Apple has acquired Turi, a machine learning and artificial intelligence startup, reports GeekWire.Turi says, “Built for developers and data people, our platform enables rapid development, simple deployment, and robust management of real-time services and applications that use machine learning.”When questioned about the acquisition, Apple issued the same statement it always does when acquiring smaller companies.“Apple buys smaller technology companies from time to time, and we generally do not discuss our purpose or plans.”GeekWire sources peg the purchase price at around $200 million:Multiple sources with knowledge of the deal confirmed that Turi has been acquired.
