Apple has reportedly bought AI startup Perceptio

Along with virtual reality, artificial intelligence seems to be the next realm where tech giants will battle out in the near future, and before each battle the combatants prepare themselves and the better the preparations, the better the performance. In order to gain a strong foothold in artificial intelligence, Apple has reportedly acquired Perceptio, a startup working on artificial intelligence systems for cell phones. Perceptio is run by two artificial intelligence researchers Zak Stone and Nicolas Pinto and their preliminary artificially intelligent technology can run image-classification on a phone without having to transfer much data to Apple’s networks, thereby delivering a speedy process.
