These past few weeks have not been exceptionally great for the viability of one day integrating artificial intelligence (AI) into the general public. On March 24, Microsoft brought its interactive chatbot Tay to life on Twitter with the intention it would learn, adapt and become smarter from each interaction she had with humans on the popular social network. I can say with a sense of certainty, anyone who was surprised by what became of Tay shortly after her launch has probably never dived into the world of Twitter.
