“Brains in a Dish” symposium tackles neurological disorders

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (NEWSPLEX) — Central Virginia’s chapter of The Society for Neuroscience is holding its annual symposium Friday focusing on technology of the brain. Neuroscientists, undergraduates and graduate students from across the Commonwealth are gathering to hear experts discuss the latest developments in the field of neuroscience. Discussions are centered around this years theme, “Brains in a Dish”. The Jordan Hall Conference Center at UVa. was packed with curious minds eager to learn about the new brain technology. “Brains is a Dish” is a hot field in neuroscience right now focusing on growing brains in a tissue cultured dish to study exactly how they develop.
