This year the Center for Molecular and Behavioral Neuroscience is starting a monthly meeting to discuss topics in the neurosciences that cross disciplinary boundaries. Called the Integrative Neuroscience Discussion Group, all members of the neuroscience and psychology communities at Rutgers-Newark are invited to attend. Our first meeting will be held on March 25 at 10am in the Aidekman Seminar Room (room 103). The goal of these discussions is to bridge the methodological and conceptual divides that often cleave our field. The impetus for trying to overcome these differences came from a recent perspective in Neuron (http://dx.doi.org/10.1016/j. neuron.2015.10.021) that highlighted the importance of integrating findings across domains, particularly between human and animal studies.
