Facebook to Open Source Its AI Hardware Design

Facebook announced that it is releasing the hardware design of its souped-up artificial intelligence server Big Sur, so other companies can explore AI to create similar systems. The company is giving away for free the designs of a powerful new computer server it build to give more power to its AI software. The social networking giant said that releasing the blueprints of Big Sur would help researchers and other tech firms benefit from the constant tweaking of Facebook’s engineers. Leading computing firms are helping both themselves and others by open-sourcing artificial intelligence tools.
