FRANK TALK: Computer rodents bring new plague

There are scientists who believe that artificial intelligence – super computers, enhanced robots, overwrought emojis – will one day supplant human intelligence. In fact, there are those who say such a fate might indeed be preferable to a Republican White House. Nonetheless, I was never one to give the theory much credence. I mean, what’s their motivation? They’re artificial. What have they got to prove? Who would they be trying to impress? Can microprocessors vie with each other for attention? But then a revelation came to me. Their motivation could be very human-like: Revenge. And it would come from a source that people would never fear, something seemingly so innocuous as to even be named for one of the meekest members of the animal kingdom – the mouse. I obviously…
