Google European Research Lab To Focus On Machine Learning

Google will open a Zurich-based research unit focused on machine learning, which is part of artificial intelligence. The project announced Thursday furthers CEO Sundar Pichai’s push into AI, which covers projects like driverless cars, Google Now, search, and its Allo chat app. Pichai has said that Google went from a search-first to a mobile-first — and now an AI-first — company. Marketers will need to understand the impact of the technology on search advertising and in other media to better understand how to plan and map campaigns.
