Google to Open a Machine-Learning Research Center in Zurich

Google recently announced its plans to unveil its new machine learning research center in Europe. The new research center will be based in the company’s Switzerland-based office in Zurich. The areas will be the primary focus of the new research center, namely machine intelligence, natural language processing and understanding, and machine perception. Several of the company’s products such as Inbox’s Smart Reply, Google Translate and Photo Search are based on machine intelligence. The Zurich team will be focused on bringing improvements to the company’s machine language (ML) infrastructure.
