Google’s DeepMind AI eyes up Moorfield hospital data

GOOGLE WANTS YOUR EYES, or at least the firm’s DeepMind artificial intelligence (AI) division wants to chow down on data gathered from eye scans. DeepMind will create a machine learning system in partnership with Moorfield Eye Hospital in London to sniff out ocular aliments at an early stage that could be missed by time-pressured clinicians and specialists. The system will crunch custom algorithms applied to a million anonymous digital eye scans.
