HP Enterprise Launches Converged IoT Systems for Edge Analytics

Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) is releasing two new platforms for the Internet of Things (IoT) that it said represent the industry’s first converged IoT systems. The systems, called Edgeline EL1000 and Edgeline EL4000, combine data capture, control, compute, and storage capabilities for heavy-duty enterprise analytics tasks taking place at the edge of the network. The company said the new Edgeline EL1000 (pictured above) and Edgeline EL4000 converged systems target enterprise clients deploying IoT devices in remote environments, also known as the “edge of the network.” While the recent proliferation of IoT devices has made it increasingly possible for companies to gather massive amounts of data from remote locations in the field, retrieving that information and performing intensive analytics on it has been challenging.Growing Need for Edge Analytics Some companies, such…
