IBM boosts Watson once again with plan to acquire Truven

IBM Watson Health announced Thursday plans to acquire Truven Health Analytics. This is the latest step in what has become a Watson buying spree, showing just how dedicated IBM is to its machine learning arm. Truven focuses strictly on medical data. The Truven network includes 8,500 clients made up of U.S. federal and state government agencies, employers, health plans, hospitals and more. Once the acquisition is done and dusted, IBM believes it will have the “world’s largest and most diverse” collection of medical and health data stored in its health cloud.
