Intel is going after Artificial Intelligence … big time

The tech giant has just purchased Nervana Systems in an effort to make a big push toward machine-learning capabilities. In a major move in the tech industry, Intel has announced the acquisition of Nervana Systems, a startup focused on Deep Learning in the Silicon Valley that will likely be a big part of the tech giant’s push toward artificial intelligence as the race to do so intensifies with rivals like Google and Apple. Nervana gives Intel aproduct to do Deep Learning, which could be integrated with Intel technology to create better products. Nervana is building its own standalone accelerator. Intel will probably continue with that, although it will likely tstart to integrate it with its own offerings down the road. The purchase is the latest in a string of acquisitions…
