International Business Machines Corp. Forms “Cognitive Business Solutions” Unit

International Business Machines Corp. (NYSE:IBM) has formed a new business unit called “Cognitive Business Solutions.” The Armonk, New York based company is trying to make the most of the recent boom in artificial intelligence (AI).The Cognitive Business Solutions group will be led by Stephen Pratt, who has previously served private equity firm TPG Capital. In its press release, IBM said the group will have 2,000 employees advising companies on the best ways to get the most out of the company’s AI software, Watson. Named after the company’s first chief executive Thomas J.
