Maluuba gets M in funding

Maluuba, a Waterloo-based company that helps machines think, reason and communicate with human-like intelligence, announced it has another round of funding. Maluuba announced at the end of January it received a Series A round of funding worth $9 million, bringing its total funding to date to $12 million. In a press release, the company said the funding will be used to further enhance its deep learning research and development, as well as product expansion in the automotive and Internet of Things sectors. The funding came from Emerillon Capital, Nautilus Ventures and undisclosed strategic investors.
