Medical and science wins generate £5 million boost for Dublin

Pictured: The Convention Centre Dublin Three new medical and scientific conferences worth an estimated €6.5 million (£5m) have been confirmed for Ireland’s Convention Centre Dublin (CCD). The 28th International Nursing Research Congress will come to the Irish capital in 2017, followed by the 10th World Congress of Pain in 2018 and the Festival of Neuroscience in 2019 after joint bids between the CCD and Dublin Convention Bureau. Between them, the three conferences are expected to bring around 5,000 delegates to Dublin. “I think it is a testament to the work that we and our partners in the Irish business tourism industry have achieved in promoting Ireland as a centre of excellence and innovation, and as a place to come to do business,” said CEO Nick Waight.
