Microsoft Corporation Acquires Deep Learning Startup Maluuba

Microsoft Corporation announced this week that it has acquired tech startup Maluuba, which focuses on general artificial intelligence. Redmond noted that the Canadian company’s work will help with its wide goal of making artificial intelligence (AI) more useful and accessible to the general public. Terms of the deal were however, not disclosed. Microsoft Corporation’s Maluuba acquisition establishes closer ties with deep learning pioneer Yoshua Bengio The Canadian startup focuses on using reinforcement learning and deep learning to better the effectiveness and proficiency of computer-based systems that can make decisions and answer questions. It builds programs that use natural-language processing, which help machines develop reasoning capabilities in research areas reinforcement learning and deep learning.
