Minecraft to become Artificial Intelligence training ground

Microsoft has announced the open-world gaming phenomenon Minecraft is to be used as a testing ground for AI research. The software giant, which purchased Minecraft developer Mojang in 2014, will allow computer science researchers to hop into the game to test their own advancements.
