MinHash is Salesforce’s latest foray into artificial intelligence

Salesforce has acquired MinHash, an artificial intelligence startup focused on gathering information on the Web to provide insight for marketers. It’s Salesforce’s third recent AI acquisition but it also gives the company virtual assistant technology.  MinHash currently provides a virtual assistant named AILA powered by a machine-learning engine. The engine trawls websites – Twitter, Pinterest and other sources – to spot recent trends that marketers can then capitalize on through campaigns that the technology helps to build and launch. While the technology is focused on fashion at the moment, Salesforce will likely extend its capabilities to other spaces once the four-man team joins the company.
