NASA, Google team on quantum computing for AI research

However, a close second is its partnership with Google and the Universities Space Research Association on a multiyear deal with D-Wave to use that company’s quantum computing technology to advance research on artificial intelligence and machine learning. The three partner organizations will work with D-Wave technology at the Quantum Artificial Intelligence Lab, or QuAIL, at NASA’s Ames Research Center, according to a press release from D-Wave. “The new agreement is the largest order in D-Wave’s history, and indicative of the importance of quantum computing in its evolution toward solving problems that are difficult for even the largest supercomputers,” said D-Wave CEO Vern Brownell in the release.
