NVIDIA Corporation and Facebook Inc to Collaborate on AI

In November, Google opened up software called TensorFlow, used to power the company’s speech recognition and image search (see “Here’s What Developers Are Doing with Google’s AI Brain”). Alternative uses including fraud detection and email spam filtering, among other use cases. This will allow other companies to explore their potential in terms of building A.I. systems. Not coincidentally, last month Google released its machine learning library TensorFlow under the open source Apache 2.0 license. GPUs were originally created to render images for games and other intensely graphical applications, but have proven adept at deep learning.
