Salesforce buys deep learning startup company MetaMind

There has been a big event in the world of so-called deep learning, as Salesforce announced it has bought startup MetaMind. According to a report from VentureBeat, it’s one of many Salesforce artificial intelligence (AI) acquisitions, and perhaps the most well known of the lot. MetaMind now plans to close on May 4th of unpaid users and June 4th for paid users. The company described the acquisition in a blog post: “With MetaMind and Salesforce coming together, we’ll be able to offer customers real AI solutions with breakthrough capabilities that further automate and personalize customer support, marketing automation, and many other business processes. We’ll extend Salesforce’s data science capabilities by embedding deep learning within the Salesforce platform”.
