Buys PredictionIO To Ramp Up Machine Learning

Cloud computing juggernaut Inc (NYSE:CRM) has reportedly purchased machine learning startup PredictionIO. The financial details of the acquisition however have not been made public as of yet. For those not so familiar with the company, PredictionIO, as the name suggests develops open source machine learning software with predictive capabilities used for general operations. The company came into being three years ago in Palo Alto, California. The startup has caught the eye of investors, having raised $2.5 million in a funding round that took place in 2014. Among its investing partners are Azure Capital Partners, CrunchFund and Quest Venture Partners.
