Samsung to acquire artificial intelligence platform Viv

Samsung Electronics has revealed its deal to acquire Viv Labs, Inc., that developed an open artificial intelligence (AI) platform. In an attempt to expand the capabilities of its digital assistant to its various other products, Samsung has acquired AI developer Viv Labs, Inc., the firm responsible for Apple’s own Siri. All three quit Apple in the years after Siri’s acquisition; and have been working on the Viv AI assistant since then. Viv Labs’ innovative AI platform gives the power to third-party developers to build conversational assistants and integrate a natural language-based interface into applications and services.
