Students of MSRIT Win Microsoft Hackathon

BENGALURU: Three MS Ramaiah Institute of Technology (MSRIT) students won a 24-hour global hackathon series challenge for prediction analysis on diabetes in Indian women on Saturday. Amog Mannekote, Tanmay Chinchore and Abhilash K recognised were as the winners of Microsoft’s Data Science Student Challenge (DSSC). The hackathon was organised in collaboration with Indian Institute of Science. Close to 200 students participated in the series that kick-started on Friday as a part of Pravega 2016, an IISc annual festival. G Arun Kumar and Aravind Sundaresan from PESIT Bengaluru South Campus bagged the second prize for prediction analysis on heart diseases. Amleshwar Kumar, Indranil Bhattacharya, Raghuram D Bharadwaj, Shreyas S and Swapnil Dhama, from the IISc, won the third prize for predicting mortality rates of patients in ICU.
