The Turing test for media

Will machines ever be able to match – or outperform – human intelligence? David Brennan gets philosophical. There has been a great deal of debate around the latest paradigm to hit our industry – mad men vs. math(s) men. It is all part of a binary approach to most things in media, whether that is analogue vs. digital; algorithms vs. instinct; analytics vs. insight; ‘new’ vs. legacy media etcetera bloody etcetera. In order to add my two penn’orth to the debate, I want to reference two of my intellectual heroes; titans in their respective fields of computing and communication theory.
