Alphabet’s (GOOG) Artificial Intelligence Masters Game of ‘Go’

We’ve seen IBM’s Watson take on Jeopardy champs and win, but an even more impressive feat has been acomplished today by Alphabet Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) and their artificial intelligence technology. Today Alphabet Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) has reported that their AI has beat a top human player in the games of ‘Go,’ a game of strategy which has perplexed AI experts for quite some time. The system which accomplished this is part of Alphabet’s (NASDAQ:GOOG) previously acquired subsidiary, DeepMind, and is called AlphaGo. “The most significant aspect of all this…is that AlphaGo isn’t just an expert system, built with handcrafted rules,” says Demis Hassabis, who oversees DeepMind. “Instead, it uses general machine-learning techniques how to win at Go.” Alphabet is certainly making inroads into many aspects of AI, and it will be incredibly…
