Amazon Popularizes Machine Learning, Should Boost NAND, Says Jefferies

By Tiernan Ray Jefferies & Co.’s Hyunwoo Do, under the aegis of Mirae Asset Securities today offers a summary of machine learning as popularized by Amazon.com (AMZN), based on the company’s conference two weeks ago on cloud computing. Amazon is “taking a step toward machine learning for the masses,” writes Do, regarding the company’s “re:invent” conference for Amazon Web Services on November 30th. The company is making it easier for companies to use GPU chips, from Nvidia (NVDA) and Advanced Micro Devices (AMD), and to use FPGA chips from Xilinx (XLNX), to carry out machine learning tasks, believes Do.
