AMD Tackles Deep Learning with Radeon Instinct Lineup

(NASDAQ:AMD) has announced Radeon Instinct this week at the Radeon Summit. The lineup consists of three new accelerators that will help AMD step forward in the realm of deep learning applications that rival such as NVIDIA Corporation (NVDA) and Intel Corporation (INTC) have heavily invested in. The first accelerator called MI6 is based on AMD’s Polaris 10 chip that powers the Radeon RX-480. It features 5.7 TFLOPs performance, 224 GB/s memory bandwidth and draws less than 150W.
