Apple Not Bowing Out of Self-Driving Cars

In a letter addressed to the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), Apple said for the first time that it is developing software for self-driving vehicles. Cupertino has been rumored to be interested in the autonomous vehicle market for the past two years, but confirmed its previously secret effort in last week’s letter to the nation’s highways regulator.
