Facebook founder and shindig addict Mark Zuckerberg has a new blog post about a “simple artificial intelligence” he recently built to help run the appliances in his home. He named the bot Jarvis, in homage to Tony Stark and Iron Man, and he programmed it to do all sorts of things: turn on and off the lights in his bedroom, regulate temperature according to Zuckerberg’s preferences, serenade him with the sweet and sweaty funk rock sounds of the Red Hot Chili Peppers. In the post, Zuck detailed some impressive and and occasionally frightening features he’d built into Jarvis, like voice recognition and the ability to recognize guests at the front door by their faces in a security camera feed.
