Facebook to Develop Artificial Intelligence to Flag Offensive Live Videos

Picture courtesy: jdlasica Facebook Inc is working on automatically preventing derogatory content in live video streams, by using artificial intelligence to supervise content. The social media mammoth began using similar software to flag offensive video content in June, but the company is implementing the feature in its live video streaming service, only now. Joaquin Candela, Facebook’s director of Applied Machine Learning, said that the current system is “an algorithm that detects nudity, violence, or any of the things that are not according to our policies.” Facebook has been ensnared in numerous content moderation controversies in 2016, from bearing the brunt of international uproar over the withdrawal of an iconic picture from the Vietnam War due to ‘nudity’, to letting fake  news sprout all over its posts to biasness in posting…
