Google Open Sourcing It’s DeepMind AI Platform Is Good News For Everybody

Artificial intelligence researchers will now be able to tap into the work already done by Google after its DeepMind unit made its game-like maze platform open source. According to a blog post, the source code for Google’s DeepMind Lab is now available for any researchers that want ramp up their own artificial intelligence projects. The customizable code will be hosted on GitHub, with the intention to provide access to a slew of training experiments already undertaken by the London-based DeepMind team. The training environment—previously known as Labyrinth—was designed to provide AI researchers with a first-person viewpoint of a three-dimensional maze through the eyes of an agent.
