Image: Pixabay Google’s quest to conquer the voice recognition and chatbot space is one step closer with an announcement of its latest startup acquisition yesterday. A blog post published on the Google blog yesterday announced the acquisition of API.AI. The latest addition to Alphabet is a machine learning startup which enables app developers to build natural language recognition into their applications. The startup based in Sunnyvale, California essentially provides a toolkit for developers to plug in advanced speech recognition and machine learning directly into their apps. What does this mean for developers? The technology means that developers can build advanced Siri-like voice recognition directly into their apps, without having to build an inferior version of the voice recognition system themselves.
