Meat-processing robots feature artificial intelligence

Investment in agricultural technology is on the rise, according to Boston Consulting Group. Photo by Boston Consulting Group Business Insider recently highlighted meat processing robots from New Zealand-based Scott Technologies, which meat-packing company, JBS, invested in last year. While many plants use automated machines already, Scott Technologies’ machines utilize artificial intelligence to scan and specifically cut each individual carcass, thereby minimizing waste and improving efficiency.  Investment in agricultural technology is on the rise. In fact, late last month, Boston Consulting Group (BCG) released a report indicating that investment in agriculture technology by companies and venture capitalists reached a staggering $25 billion in 2015.
