Microsoft (MSFT) Stock Down, Acquiring AI Scheduling Tool Genee

NEW YORK (TheStreet) — Microsoft (MSFT)  has agreed to purchase Genee, an artificial-intelligence-based scheduling service. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Genee, created in 2014, uses natural language processing and optimized decision-making algorithms to schedule and reschedule meetings. The service is used like a personal assistant and helps to streamline scheduling processes, according to a Microsoft statement. Genee founders Ben Cheung and Charles Lee plan to join Microsoft once the transaction closes. Microsoft anticipates that the deal will help build its new Office 365 productivity capabilities. Shares of Microsoft were down late Monday morning.
