Microsoft releases machine learning toolkit DMTK to open source

Source: Microsoft Possibly feeling pressure from Google’s similar move earlier this week, Microsoft has open-sourced its own set of machine learning tools for wide use by developers. Microsoft said it hopes the move will open up machine learning processes to developers and organizations with fewer resources than the tech giants who have researched the tech to this point. “In order to enable the training of big models using just a modest cluster and in an efficient manner, we release the Microsoft Distributed Machine Learning Toolkit, which contains both algorithmic and system innovations. These innovations make machine learning tasks on big data highly scalable, efficient and flexible,” reads the DMTK website. DMTK is available on GitHub and offers several APIs.
