PA research: Ethics and Artificial Intelligence

PITTSBURGH (AP) – Carnegie Mellon University has received a $10 million donation for research and education about ethical and policy issues stemming from advances in artificial intelligence and other technologies. The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports that the donation by K&L Gates LLP establishing the K&L Gates Endowment for Ethics and Computational Technologies will create new faculty positions and doctoral fellowships. The gift will also support a biennial conference, allow recognition of outstanding achievement by undergraduate students and create an annual prize to be awarded at commencement to a graduating senior. Peter Kalis, K&L Gates chairman and global managing partner, called defining ethical boundaries concerning the new technologies “a profoundly important and signature 21st century challenge.” Share this: Like this: Like Loading… Related Posts Advertisement
