The Department of Radiation Oncology at Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN invites applications for a postdoctoral research position in the Division of Medical Physics.  Individuals with a strong interest in the application of computational tools and physics principles in medicine and experience in machine learning are encouraged to apply. This two year fellowship, with a possible 1 year extension, offers individualized research opportunity in the area of Artificial Intelligence as it applies to segmentation and treatment planning in radiation therapy. The incumbent will join a dynamic and highly productive team and is expected to conduct research leading to peer-reviewed publications and presentations at international meetings under the guidance of our faculty. Requirements Applicants should have a doctoral degree in Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering or related field, with a proven background in Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning applications.  They should have excellent quantitative, written and verbal skills and evidence of research scholarship.  Facilities and Environment The Medical Physics Division currently has 18 Ph.D. faculty, 20 staff medical physicists, 9 medical physics residents, 4  postdoctoral fellows, engineers and IT support.  The radiation oncology department at Mayo Rochester is a large practice supporting all aspects of radiation therapy including proton therapy.
